RIP Jas Arnold

RIP Jas Arnold

This past weekend we lost one of our great treasures in the Surveying community, James "Jas" Arnold. I knew Jas since his days at Fresno State in the early 1980's. We worked on numerous projects in San Diego while he was at Rick Engineering.
Jas was an accomplshed educator once running the survey program at the University of Alaska. He taught many courses under the auspices of CLSA while at Rick. To say he will be missed doesn't begin to describe the situation. He leaves a void.
Rest well my friend, you earned it.

Sorry to hear of any surveyor passing. RIP Jas. Sounds like you left some great footprints on our profession.

Jas possessed a great mind and an even greater heart.  With them he overcame physical challenges, and accomplished so much more than the rest of us who never faced such high hurdles.  He inspired all who knew him at the University of Alaska (1985-86 for me).  Farewell, Jas ...
