Spectra EPOCH 35

I'm seriously considering a base/rover setup with the Spectra EPOCH 35.  I did a demo over the weekend and really liked the ease of use and quality of data I got. The $$ is nice too.  Is anyone else using this setup?  Feedback? 
I'm coming from a Trimble R8 setup with a TSC2 using Access.  Can I use a TSC2 with Access or SurveyPro?

We have a Epoch 35 that we use for a VRS system.  We also have a Topcon hiper system.  When we use them side by side the Epoch does a much better job.  We are also using TSC2 with Survey Pro.  The Epochs as a base/rover, we are looking at the Epoch 50 for purchase right now.  Very good product.

So are you using SurveyPro with the Spectra GPS units?  If I can use one collector for the Trimble and Spectra that would be awesome!!

Correct, I use Survey Pro for the Robot (survey pro stinks for that) and the Epoch 35.  I would also take a look at the 50, built in radios for what they are saying is mile range.  We just had the 35 watt radio this week and went 2 milles and had no issues at all.  They spec that for 6 miles.

I demo'd the spectra50's base/rover config. (no VRS in my area). These are GLONOSS enabled and kept fix in some serious canopy. On board radios are Tx/Rx on both units but only get about 3000' range.
Otherwise, very pleased.

I've been told spectra only works w. tds survey pro.   True?

I believe they will only work with TDS and Trimble software.  Spectra is a Trimble spin off company I believe.

The Epoch 35 is built specifically for Survey Pro and can not be used with Trimble Access (as they now call it).  The Epoch 35 is a great unit featuring both GPS and GLONASS.  It is priced right and easy to use.  However, it has been discontinued and along with that so have parts.  Stick with a new EPOCH 50, same thing, however, the rovers have integrated radios with both transmit and receive capabilities allowing you to use it as a base or a rover.  It also features a Trimbl;e brand board, instead of the Novatel board in the Epoch 35.  It also has L2C and L5.  Priced very close.
