Trimble TSC3 Bluetooth

I am having a horrible time with the bluetooth on my TSC3.  It will not turn on through the windows settings or wireless manager.  The only way that I can get it to turn on is to hold the power button in for 5 seconds and re-boot the controller.  Getting very frustrated.  Does anyone else have this happening to them or had this problem resolved?  I would like to hear from you if you have.

Hi DJ! Welcome to the world of trimble.

I am not using the TSC3, but currently operating the GEOxh 6000. Exactly the same problem. We have 3 of these units. All are brand new, within 4 months and all have the same problem. We even had the Trimble technician come out to the field with us and told us that it was a "Windows glitch" and Trimble and Microsoft both knew about it but wasn't doing anything to fix it. Also have had the same issue with the newest Spectra Ranger data collector that is now owned by Trimble. As far as I know, there is nothing you can do but reboot it when it won't connect. Rebooting has become part of our daily protocol at the beginning of the day and right after lunch.

Hi,
I recently updated Trimble Access on our TSC2's and one of them has now bluetooth problems ... it almost always deactivates the bluetooth connection in windows after ending a GNSS session, so when powering up our R6 the next time it won't connect, we can however reactivate the Bluetooth in de windows system settings.
I have checked for a (Mobile) Virus but did not detect any ...

What windows operating system is on your collectors: ce or mobile? We are also having issues with bluetooth on new system operating Windows Ce 6.

Our dc is a 2 year old TSC2 running Windows Mobile 5.0 (OS 5.1.195)
We never updated the OS, we recently updated Trimble Access and since then we have bluetooth problems, not sure if the upgrade is the cause, but it may be.
We don't have problems once connected and measuring, but when we end a survey, and then want to start a new one we have to enable the bluetooth again in the windows system screen.

Check the I/O module first. Turn the TSC3 upside down and look under the rubber cover at the bottom of the unit.
If you have the updated module there should be a little dimple (about 1 mm) between the two screws that hold the rubber.
If there is no dimple you should consider replacing the module. This is (or at least has been) a warranty issue.

Next, check the OS. They released 3 patches to the original version, update A, B and C.
If all of these have been installed and the problem remains, look at installing the latest version available.
This could also require a software update depending on your current version.

I did all of this on my TSC3 and now it works just fine.
