USB HyperLite and GR-3 cables are different?

Posted by David Myhill on Jun 3, 2010 4:58 pm

Yes, at least for the models I have. This created a lot of trouble when I got my new computer without a serial port. I got it to work one time with the HyperLite, and then the next time with the GR-3...but never both at the same time.Turns out the HyperLite uses an unlabeled cable with black connectors, and the GR-3 uses a cable labeled "Rv.2" with yellow connectors...Thought I would share the knowledge, in case anyone else has troubles.

Check the pin configuration of the USB port on the Hiper then look at the power port and you will see why they changed the design.

Yes, it does make sense, but I wanted to post this since it caused me some problems. In fact, the dealer didn't know this, and the repair shop didn't know this. I had no idea until I took my unit to their shop and it worked for them, and I said...hmmm...that cable looks different.Just wanted to put the knowledge out there in case someone with a similar problem searched this board.
